Uttar Pradesh will organise UP Day 2026 from January 24 to 26 on a grand scale to showcase the state’s rich heritage, cultural vitality and developmental achievements to citizens across India and abroad, Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh announced here on Sunday.

Uttar Pradesh Day marks the historic occasion when the state was renamed from United Provinces to Uttar Pradesh on January 24, 1950. Since 2018, the government has been observing the occasion as a three-day celebration to highlight the state’s social, cultural, and economic progress.

The state-level main event will be organised at the Rashtra Prerna Sthal, Lucknow, while district-level programmes across Uttar Pradesh will include cultural, literary, social, and development-focused activities. The Department of Information and Public Relations will provide live broadcast coverage of the main programme, enabling people from Uttar Pradesh living in other parts of India and overseas to connect with the celebrations.

To give Uttar Pradesh Day broader national and international visibility, events will also be organised outside the state, including in Delhi, Maharashtra, and other regions. In addition, celebrations will be held abroad with the support of Indian embassies in countries such as Fiji, Mauritius, the Maldives, Singapore, and Thailand, among others.

Jaiveer Singh appealed to citizens to participate enthusiastically in the celebrations and witness the evolving and progressive image of Uttar Pradesh. He informed that the event venues will feature One District One Product (ODOP) stalls from across the state, offering visitors an opportunity to explore each district’s craftsmanship, traditions, and development journey. The programme will also provide a platform to hear the views of prominent national leaders.

Expressing confidence in strong public participation, the minister said the celebrations would further strengthen the sense of pride and collective identity among the people of Uttar Pradesh.

The minister also extended warm greetings to citizens on the occasion of National Tourism Day and National Voters’ Day (25 January), followed by Republic Day (26 January), calling these dates a moment of pride and reflection for the nation.

In addition to the main venue in Lucknow, a major event will be held at Shilpgram, Noida, while programmes will also be organised in Mumbai and other districts. It has been decided that ambassadors from the above-mentioned countries will be invited as distinguished guests to the Noida event.

The administration has directed all concerned departments to ensure timely coordination and meticulous arrangements for the smooth and dignified conduct of Uttar Pradesh Day 2026.
